1. Mizubasho Onsen – Best Luxury & Pure Spring Water

Mizubasho Onsen, located inside Sierra Hotel Hakuba, is one of the most impressive onsen in the Hakuba Valley. Drawing more than 200 liters of mineral-rich water per minute, this is the largest hot spring source in the area and is fully 100% gensen kake-nagashi, meaning no added water or heating. The light green, 48°C water is rich in minerals and known for leaving skin smooth while warming the body deeply. The bathhouse itself was built using reclaimed timber from 120- to 160-year-old traditional homes, giving the space a historic and refined feel. There are outdoor baths and the open space concept lets you enjoy the nature of Hakuba in all seasons whole you soak in the water. If you are not staying at the hotel, the Day-use hours are between 13:00–17:00 (last entry 16:00, irregular holidays).
